President of the Senate of Paraguay visits Syria

President of the Senate of Paraguay Oscar Ruben Salomon Fernandez is currently on an official visit to Syria heading a delegation. He arrived at Jdeidet Yabous border crossing in Damascus countryside. He was welcomed at the crossing by Deputy Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly Mohammad Akram Al-Ajlani and several PA members.

In a statement to journalists at the crossing’s hall of honor, Fernandez said that the visit aims at strengthening the relations between Syria and Paraguay in general and between the Senate of Paraguay and Syria’s People’s Assembly in particular.

The delegation comprises member of the Paraguayan Senate, Head of the senate’s Foreign Relations Committee Juan Afra Miguel, Paraguay’s Ambassador in Beirut, the Charge de Affairs of the Paraguayan Embassy in Damascus Fernandez Parisi, the Honorary Consul of Paraguay in Syria Mohammad Qattan and Syria’s Honorary Consul in Paraguay Mou’taz Al-Khatieb.
