President of the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan: The West’s hostile stance against Syria and Russia is part of its colonial approach
President of the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan, Radi Khabirov, stressed that the hostile Western stance against Syria, Russia and their friends is completely and closely linked to the Western colonial approach based on the policy of containment and hegemony. He pointed out that the sanctions and coercive measures imposed by the West are only a major part of this approach which is condemned by the majority of the peoples of the world.
Khabirov stated in Moscow: This “hostile stance has only received support from a few countries that still represent the world of old colonialism… and all the allegations and claims made by these countries are contrary to the truth and reality,” indicating that the Western powers have been imposing sanctions on Russia since 2014 and have doubled these coercive measures after the decision to start the special military operation in Ukraine.
Khabirov explained that the Western powers, led by the United States, are working to pump money and weapons into the fascist and neo-Nazi regimes to fuel hostility against Russia, Syria and other independent countries, after realizing that the peoples, especially in the global south, are trying to get rid of the remnants of inherited colonial relations and plans of hegemony and containment aimed at involving these peoples in proxy wars that only serve the collective interests of the West. Khabirov stressed that imposing sanctions and restrictions on the peoples of Syria and Russia contradicts the principles of the United Nations and the purposes of international humanitarian law, so the Western approach must be met with popular and official rejection in most countries of the world that are striving to achieve humanitarian principles in their economic relations based on equality in trade and humanitarian exchange operations.
