President of the Cuban Parliament renews his country’s support for Syria in all international forums

Havana (ST): The Speaker of the National Assembly of Cuban People’s Power in Parliament Esteban Lazo reiterated his country’s position in support of Syria in all regional and international parliamentary forums, describing the relations between the two countries as distinguished and deeply rooted.

 During his meeting with Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Mayya at the Parliament headquarters in the Cuban capital, Havana, Lazo pointed out the importance of parliamentary relations in strengthening official and popular relations between the two countries, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by Ambassador Mayya, who will soon finish his duties in strengthening relations and consolidating the bonds of friendship between Syria and Cuba.

For his part, Ambassador Mayya expressed his thanks and gratitude to Cuba for all the appreciation he felt during his work in it for Syria’s leadership and people, stressing that Syria will always remain by Cuba’s side in regional and international forums and support its struggle to put an end to the unjust siege imposed on it by the United States for more than more than six decades.
