President Bezeshkian stresses importance of focusing on development of relations between Syria and Iran

Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday received Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and the accompanying delegation which comprises Mohammad Samer Al-Khalil, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, and Faisal Al-Mikdad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

During the meeting, the Iranian President said that bilateral relations have always been good and distinguished for decades through joint support to just and right causes for both sides.

President Bezeshkian referred to the importance of focusing on developing relations in all fields, particularly the economic, scientific and cultural ones, and the necessity of raising them up to the level of political relations, in addition to the importance of concentrating on enhancing relations between the two peoples in various fields in a way that contributes to boosting the stances of the countries and peoples of the region.

The Iranian President said it is very important to evaluate what has been achieved in the course of relations and identify the points that still need more attention and joint work, stressing the necessity of the institutional dimension in continuing the development of the ties between the two countries in all fields.

Arnous, for his part, extended his congratulations to the Iranian President and conveyed to him the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad and his congratulations on gaining the confidence of the Iranian people who elected him as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, wishing him success in his duties and the Iranian people further progress and prosperity.

Prime Minister also conveyed President al-Assad’s invitation to his Iranian counterpart to visit Damascus as soon as possible, meanwhile, President Pezeshkian welcomed the invitation and respond it.

Arnous expressed his confidence that the relations between the two countries will deepen in the next stage, pointing out that the situation in Syria currently has become safer and more stable, thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian people and the support of brothers and friends for Syria and its people.

He pointed out the rapid steps witnessed by relations between the two countries in all fields, while endorsing and supporting any step that helps strengthen direct relations between the peoples of the two countries in general and the business sector in particular, in implementation and commitment to the directives of President Al-Assad.
