President Bashar Al-Assad visits the National Center for Excellence in Homs after its reopening

On September 11thPresident Bashar al-Assad visited the National Center for Excellence in Homs, after it reopened having being suspended for years due to terrorism.

During his visit, President al-Assad was briefed on the laboratory and educational departments, and met with the Board of Trustees of the Excellence and Creativity Commission, the Council of Scientific Affairs of the Center for Excellence and the Committee of Experts and Specialists, and discussed with them their proposals and ideas on advancing education in line with scientific and economic changes

The President also discussed with them how to support the research path to be reflected in the production and service sectors.

The National Center for the Distinguished was launched in 2009 in Homs as a national scientific beacon, and it was a target of terrorism in 2012, so its cadres and students left to move between several governorates in temporary centers, bringing with them their aspirations and their unbroken will.

Thirteen years ago, President al-Assad was present at the launch of this center, and today, on the first day of the new school year after its reopening in Homs, President al-Assad shared the center’s staff and students with a message of joy and pride in the return and hope for capabilities and achievements
