President Bashar Al-Assad on Sunday performs Eid Al-Adha prayer at Al-Rawda Mosque in Damascus.

Senior state officials as well as a number of Islamic scholars and citizens also performed the prayer led by Imam Mohammad Sahrif Al-Sawwaf.

In the Eid sermon, Sheikh Al-Sawwaf said that “Eid Al-Adha is a symbol for sacrifice, patience and belief”.
He added that prophets Ebrahem and Mohammad were a major example to follow in patience and in facing calamities.

He prayed God to protect Syria, its people, army and President, hoping that victory and prosperity would soon prevail all over the country.

Following the prayer, President Al-Assad exchanged congratulations with the citizens on the occasion of  Eid Al Adha.
