President Bashar Al-Assad participates in religious celebration commemorating the birth of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)

Today , President Bashar al -Assad participated in the religious celebration held by the Ministry of Awqaf to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Grand Mosque of Bani Umayyah in Damascus, where he performed the noon prayer, led by Sheikh Dr. Khidr Shahrour, Director of Endowments of Damascus Countryside

The celebration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sheikh Salim Al-Akkaand included religious prayers inspired by the Prophet’s birthday. 

The Minister of Awqaf, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Sattar Al -Sayyid, delivered a speech in which he referred to the great meanings of this generous anniversary, and the morals and values ​​included in the biography of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Minister Al -Sayyid indicated that, since more than 1400 years, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) set up the first constitution of citizenship and made the love of homelands and defending them testimony for the sake of faith

He pointed to the values ​​ disseminated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the most important of which are justice, equality, and calling for dialogue, wisdom and good advice. 

He spoke about the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army and the Syrian people in the face of the unjust terrorist war, supported by the Muslim Brotherhood, Wahhabi movement  and the neo Ottomans

He said that Syria has withstood due to the valor of its army and its people and the care of its leader, President Bashar al -Assad, who initiated many projects from Aleppo to Adra Industrial city  and on the other hand, supported the families of the martyrs

The celebration was concluded by Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Tawfiq Ramadan Al –Bouti, President of the Union of Scholars of the Levant, who called on God to preserve Syria, its people, its army, and its leader, President Bashar al -Assad, and to inspire what is in the interest of the country and the nation. 

After the end of the prayer, the masses turned around President Assad and exchanged congratulations and blessings on this blessed anniversary. 

A number of senior officials in the state, the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Islamic religion scholars, and a crowd of citizens participated in the celebration.
