President Bashar al-Assad meets, in two consecutive meetings, the heads of parliaments and members of Arab parliamentary delegations

On February 26thPresident Bashar al-Assad met in two consecutive meetings the heads of parliaments and members of the Arab parliamentary delegations that arrived in Syria. 

President Bashar al-Assad affirmed that the delegation’s visit to Syria today means a lot to the Syrian people because it gives an indication of Arab brothers stand by the  Syrians’ side in the difficult circumstances they are exposed to as a result of the terrorist war and the repercussions of the earthquake. 

President Bashar al-Assad said that this visit confirms that there are effective Arab institutions capable in various circumstances to take the initiative and move for the benefit of the Arab peoples

President Bashar al-Assad considered that the strength of the institutions that represent peoples comes from the fact that they represent the different spectrums and segments of society

The President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, Muhammad al-Halbousi, considered that the delegation came to Syria on behalf of all the members of the Union, to support the Syrian people

In turn, the members of the delegation affirmed their willingness to provide all possible support so that the Syrian people can overcome this ordeal, because Syria has never stopped serving the causes of the Arab peoples

The members considered that the Syrian people are able to overcome the effects of the earthquake, just as they were able to confront the war and the siege imposed on them. 

The first meeting included the President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and the heads of parliament in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Palestine, Libya and Egypt, in addition to the heads of the delegations of the Sultanate of Oman and Lebanon, and the Secretary-General of the Arab Parliamentary Union. 

Then President Bashar al-Assad also met in an expanded meeting with the heads and members of parliamentary delegations.
