President Bashar Al-Assad: Athletes have defied war and the siege and raised the name of Syria high
President Bashar Al-Assad sent a congratulatory message to the Syrian sports cadres on this occasion. The message was conveyed by the Minister of Presidency Affairs, Mansour Azzam, in which President al-Assad praised the heroic athletes.
The Syrian athletes who, like the Syrian people, challenged the conditions of war and siege and raised the name of Syria high in international forums.
President Bashar Al-Assad stressed that the Syrian people are looking forward to achieving more in the sport field in the next important championships.
President Bashar Al-Assad said in the message: “Athletes, first of all, I have mercy on the souls of all the martyrs of the homeland, including the martyrs of the sports sector, which lost more than five hundred martyrs. I congratulate you on the fiftieth anniversary of the Syrian sport. I congratulate you on the anniversary of the founding of the General Sports Federation. This organization,that was founded Fifty years ago, is considered the sponsor of your talents, the supporter of your ambitions to achieve victory and the best representative of your country in all forums and in various sports competitions.”
President Bashar Al-Assad said: “ I congratulate you for your positive results with which you honored yourselves, your families, your coaches, and your country, which is proud of you. All Syrians always hope that the heroes and heroines of our national teams would raise the name of Syria high. Sport has another aspect other than competing andachieving victories, this aspect is a dedication of sport as a culture in society.”
President Bashar Al-Assad continued: “You, as individuals who enjoy a physical and mental build-up, are entrusted to contribute to building and fortifying society. After ten years of the terrorist war that was imposed on our country, what we need today is to support each other so that we can restore the effects of this war that it left in all domains.”
President Bashar Al-Assad said: “ Although many years have passed since we were subjected to terror, destruction, siege and sanctions, our athletes have continued their march as all Syrians who have defied the conditions of war and siege.”
President Bashar Al-Assad added: “ The Syrian people are looking to you in order to achieve more wins in the upcoming important championships. Your victory is a victory for all Syrians . The right path to achieve distinguished sporting achievements begins with building a successful athlete who is equipped with good training and high moral, so that he can be a pivotal axis in consolidating the pride and dignity of the homeland and contribute to its continued development.”
President Bashar Al-Assad concluded his message by saying: “ Once again I congratulate you on this day , wishing the Syrian sport and athletes brilliance and success.”
