President Assad: The Intellectual war, attempts to cancel the identity, are the most dangerous forms of Colonial Onslaught, we are Experiencing
DAMASCUS,(ST)_ President Bashar al- Assad met today with the teaching staff and higher studies students at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Damascus.
The President stressed that the intellectual war and attempts to change the identity are, but the most serious forms of imperialist onslaught, we are experiencing, pointing out that the Arab region was basically built on the ideology of the inseparability of Arabism and Islam as a basic principle for the restoration of security and social and intellectual stability in our societies.
“When the West failed to abrogate this ideology in order to control our region and the role of the Arab countries, it resorted to playing with terminology to change the essence of our ideologies,” the President said, noting the importance of the role played by intellectuals and academics to confront attempts to market different implications seeking to devoid the ideologies of their content, thereby deviating from main issues, we are fighting for, for decades.
The President stressed that Syria is targeted not only by virtue of its important geopolitical position, but also because of its pivotal historic role in the region and its major impact on the Arab street, adding that Syria is exposed to attempts to undermine its independent decision in order to change its policy which meets the interests of the Syrian people, not complying with the interests of the US and the West in the region, a fact which explains the emergence of the Israeli instrumental role in supporting the terrorist groups.
President al-Assad indicated the turning point in the Syrian crisis especially the continued military achievements of the army, the national reconciliations and the growing public awareness of the objectives of the conspiracy on the country, adding that the Syrian state is seeking to restore security and stability to major areas hit by the terrorists, and then to chase their sleeping cells.
The meeting dealt with an intellectual and political dialogue on the importance of universities,academies and scientific research and Strategic Studies centers in providing required cadres, and the need to maintain cultural, administrative and religious rehabilitation for future generations to fight against corruption.
