President Assad’s Condolences on the Demise of Patriarch Iwas
BEIRUT,(ST) _ Delegated by President Bashar al- Assad, Syria’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali conveyed warmest condolences on the death of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and head of the Syriac Orthodox church in the world Mar Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, during the funeral, held yesterday at St. Ephrem,in Beirut.
The ambassador conveyed to the family of the late Patriarch and the Syriac Orthodox Church bishops, appreciation for his life-long efforts in serving peace, humanity and Syria.
Representatives of the Syriac Church thanked the President ‘s generous gesture in appreciating Patriarch ‘ great and abundant deeds, stemmed from Syria, the official residence of the world ‘s only Orthodox Church.
