President Assad receives congratulations from Presidents of Myanmar, Abkhazia

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ President Bashar al-Assad received yesterday a cable of congratulations from the President of the Republic of Myanmar and Acting President of the Republic of Abkhazia Bganpa Vitaly Rasovic on winning the presidential election.

Myanmar president expressed confidence that relations of friendship and cooperation existing between the two countries will be enhanced for the benefit of their peoples in the coming years.

For his part, Acting President of the Republic of Abkhazia expressed confidence that electing President al-Assad for a new constitutional term will promote peace in Syria and its position on the international level, showing interest in establishing relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
