President Assad receives congratulations from Cuba and Afghanistan presidents on winning elections

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ President Bashar al-Assad today received two cables of congratulations from Raul Castro Ruz President of the Republic of Cuba and Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on the occasion of winning the presidential elections.

The two Presidents expressed hope that Syria will overcome impeding challenges, thanks to the wisdom of its leadership and determination of the Syrian people.

More Cables of Congratulations from Arab and International Parties, Bodies and Figures

President al-Assad also received several cables of congratulations from Syrian, Arab and international parties and figures, on winning the presidential elections in Syria.

The cables stressed that President al-Assad re-election is a victory for all liberals who stood with the Syrian people, army and leadership against the war and foreign plots, pointing out that this victory opens new prospects for an end to the crisis in Syria.

The cables were from the president and founder of the progressive initiative of Africa and the Middle East Omutula Luqman Osoviso, the Baath Party national leadership in Sudan, Tunisian Committee to resist colonialism and anti-normalization with the Zionist entity, Sheikh Khalid Abdul Wahab Al Mulla adviser to Iraq’s presidency, Ahmad Mubarak Al-Shater Chairman of the Executive Committee of the General Union of Arab students, the Secretary General of the Bahraini Opposition Association Fadel Abbas, and Sheikh Yusuf Djerboue Chief of Unitarian Muslim community in Syria.
