DAMASCUS,(ST) _ President Bashar al- Assad yesterday received a delegation including representatives of various cultural, educational, religious and social activists in Hama province.
Discussions during the meeting dealt with aspects pertinent to service and living conditions, security and people ‘s basic needs as well as the possibility of establishing a public university that includes already existing colleges in addition to new ones. The President confirmed that these requirements will be considered in the fastest time and met in line with set priorities and possibilities.
President Assad stressed that Syria is moving steadily towards victory, thanks to the great sacrifices of the army and the steadfastness of the Syrian people, noting the honorable national position of the people of Hama, like other Syrian governorates, in being an example to be followed, in national commitment and in rejecting attempts to sow discord between the people of one the nation.
President al-Assad continued that the state continues to fight terrorism and will, simultaneously continue to support and strengthen national reconciliation efforts in any area, where reconciliation can be accomplished, until security and stability are restored back to all areas of Syria, noting the great importance attached by the Syrian state to the file of the missing and that many achievements have been made at this level.
For their part, members of the delegation spoke about problems plaguing Hama province, especially in rural areas, in addition to the efforts made by Hama dignitaries in cooperation with the state institutions in order to accomplish further reconciliations.
