President Aoun calls for ending suffering of Palestinian people and restoring their rights

Lebanese President General Michel Aoun called on the international community to work to end the suffering of the Palestinian people by restoring their  right and achieving a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.

In a letter of solidarity addressed by Aoun to the Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the  Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Sheikh Niang, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Aoun called for ensuring the return of the Palestinians to their homes from which they were displaced out of respect for the right of return as stipulated in the UN General Assembly resolution United No. 194 on 11-12-1948.

Aoun pointed out that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People comes at a time when the brotherly Palestinian people are still struggling to restore their rights and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the June 4, 1967 line, as stipulated in international resolutions.
