President Al-Assad to Ghalibaf: Syrian-Iranian coordination in fighting terrorism has achieved positive results
DAMASCUS, (ST)_President Bashar Al-Assad received on Wednesday the Speaker of the Iranian Shoura Council Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and the accompanying delegation.
The talks between the two sides dealt with the strong bilateral relations and constructive cooperation between Syria and Iran in all fields.
President Al-Assad reiterated during the meeting that Iran is a major partner for Syria and it has stood by the people of Syria in fighting terrorism and supported it in all fields.
“ The coordination between Syria and Iran in fighting terrorism has achieved positive results on the ground, and it will continue until the liberation of all areas and defeating terrorist groups,” the president said.
The main role of Parliaments in Syria and Iran in opening new horizons for bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic field and activating cooperation between private sectors in the two countries to confront the economic war and the sanctions being imposed on them were also on the table.
For his part, Ghalibaf said that the insistence of the Iranian and Syrian peoples on fulfilling the recent presidential elections in Iran and Syria proves the failure of the policy of pressures being practiced against the two countries and asserts that no one can stand against the will of peoples.
