President Al-Assad to Abdollahian: US stance on Israel’s aggression on Gaza Strip threatens with expanding the conflict in the region

President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that the US behavior with regard to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip threatens with expanding the conflict in the region, as the US continues to supply the Zionist entity with lethal weapons and carry out attacks on various parts of the Middle East.

The President made the remarks on Sunday, February 11, during his meeting with the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Damascus. Talks dealt with bilateral political and economic relations between the two countries, the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and developments in the region.

President Al-Assad pointed out that the Zionist entity and the West are in an impasse today and the Israeli escalation in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon is nothing but an attempt to get out of this impasse.”

“It is our duty to stand to the utmost of our ability alongside the Palestinian people, because what the Palestinian people have achieved during the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza has not been achieved since the beginning of the Palestinian issue,” the President stressed.

He said that the Zionist entity has not been satisfied with the horrific number of crimes it committed against the Palestinian people during its ongoing aggression against Gaza, and before that, over decades of bloodshed and genocide, but it is preparing to continue its crimes in the city of Rafah, while the relevant international institutions, most notably the Security Council, are unable to stop these massacres.

Abdollahian considered that the issue of Gaza is now considered the main issue not only at the regional level but also at the international level, noting that Syria is at the front lines in supporting the Palestinian people and their cause.
