President Al-Assad: Syria has real capabilities to overcome blockade and reduce its effects

Damascus, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad on Wednesday visited a number of factories and facilities at Adra industrial city in Damascus countryside which were erected under the circumstances of the war and blockade. The owners of the factories and facilities at Adra industrial city have succeeded in continuing  their work despite all difficulties and challenges.

During his tour, President Al-Assad was briefed on the reality of production in the industrial city, and he met industrialists in the city and discussed with them the promotion of production and how to overcome the obstacles facing the industry in Syria.

During the meeting, President al-Assad affirmed that Syria has real capabilities to overcome blockade and reduce its effects, and create more investment and work opportunities.

Visiting the industrial city in Adra, which suffered from terrorism for years, comes to emphasize that economy is a top priority in the coming stage and to stress the need to overcome all the obstacles facing the production sector in Syria, President Al-Assad said.

The President went on to say that “what I have seen in the industrial city sends several messages, including to those who have potential and capabilities, but lack the courage and initiative, to start production, and to those who send us messages of frustration from abroad. What I have seen carries messages of hope and confidence, especially because the industrial sector has kept steadfast for years despite difficult circumstances and challenges and many industrialists, who lost everything, have managed to start from the zero point.”

President Al-Assad reiterated that the state will certainly be on the side of the industrialists and producers, because they deserve all the support and because today they are fighting relentlessly in an economic war, and the Syrian citizens expect from them and the state great efforts to achieve the hoped-for economic development.
