President Al-Assad: Syria determined to pursue the war against terrorism

 DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad reiterated Tuesday that Syria would decisively pursue the war it has been waging for years against the Takfiri terrorism in all of its forms.

Receiving the Iraqi National Security Advisor and envoy of the Iraqi Premier, Falih Al-Fayadh, H.E. President Al-Assad asserted that Syria supports any international efforts against terrorism, pointing out that the success of such efforts doesn’t depend only on military action, but also on the commitment to related UNSC resolutions and their pending stipulations regarding the halting of whatever support  to terrorist organizations.

Assertion was laid during the meeting on the continued cooperation and coordination between the leaderships of Syria and Iraq as to eradicate the plague of  terrorism, given the fact that such cooperation and coordination yielded positive results for the people in Syria, Iraq, as well as in the region.

Mr. Al-Fayadh briefed H.E. President Al-Assad on the latest measures taken and the would be taken as to combat terrorism.

H.E. President Al-Assad reiterated last week that the fight against terrorism starts with exerting pressure on the countries which support and finance terrorist organizations and claim at the same time to be now fighting terrorism.

Receiving Al-Fayadh on September 16th,  H.E. President Al-Assad voiced relief over the standing cooperation with Iraqi leaderships in encountering the terrorist organizations, which resulted in positive outcomes for both countries and the region.

Mr. Al-Fayadh briefed H.E. President Al-Assad on the latest developments in Iraq and the efforts exerted by the government and people of Iraq to encounter terrorists.

Assertion was laid on the importance of the bolstering of coordination and cooperation between Syria and Iraq as to fight terrorism threatening both countries, the region as well as the entire globe.
