President Al-Assad stresses the importance of turning youth initiatives into applicable programs

Damascus, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad met yesterday with a hundred young men and women students  from Syrian universities who were  participating in the youth dialogue sessions launched by the National Union of Syrian Students under the title “Thinking for Syria, come meet to exchange ideas” with the aim of activating the role of Syrian youth, and their participation in public affairs and community building.

During his dialogue, President Al-Assad said that these youth initiatives are very important. He said that these youth initiatives should be later transformed into applicable plans and programs.

President Al-Assad pointed out that we are in need of tens of non-stop dialogue sessions, as dialogue is the basis of success in any task.

The students briefed President al-Assad on the outcomes of their many dialogues, their opinions and proposals and the impact of dialogue in enhancing citizenship in addition to the role of the youth in development, opportunities of getting alternative income, the issue of identity, belonging, activating the role of culture and media as a means of change, building the individual, society and youth vision to develop a higher education system.

President al-Assad referred to the importance of analysis and scientific research and its promotion as a methodology in the educational system, starting from the first educational stages.

President Al-Assad affirmed that the world is living in a state of intellectual and cultural decline. He noted that our current generations are being subjected to a cultural invasion, and to face this attack, we need to adhere to the national identity and national affiliation, in addition to avoiding the wrong terminology.

President al-Assad considered that small projects protect the economy, and we must support these projects through developing laws and promoting these projects through loans.

Regarding  confronting obstacles to youth work to realize their projects and invest their energies, President Al-Assad said that the local administration is the main channel in this matter, as the local administration is the solution so that it is the interface for working with youth projects.
