President Al-Assad stresses important role of religious establishment in deepening stability in society

President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that the religious institution plays an important role in deepening stability in society and state through dealing with religious issues in a right way.

During his meeting on Monday with senior scholars of the Levant, President Al-Assad said that “efforts of all scholars have accumulated over the past years and we have started to harvest the fruits of these efforts within the different segments of the Syrian society which has showed notable intellectual and religious maturity that integrates with the maturity of the religious establishment in Syria.

President Al-Assad clarified that the commitment of the Syrian religious establishment to the correct understanding of the Holy Quran and the Prophet’s hadith has mainly contributed to teaching people Islam as revealed by God Almighty, as there is no moderate Islam and extremist Islam, rather, there is one Islam, but the extremists are the ones who chose extremism.
