President al-Assad Stressed to the Governors the Importance of Involving Citizens in Decision–Making, Securing Living Conditions

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ President Bashar al- Assad today met with the country ‘s governors, in the presence of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Local Administration.

During the meeting, the President stressed importance of constant communication and intensive meetings and to hold field visits so as to contribute, practically, to involve citizen in decision –making and to be notified about what the government can provide, within resources available, including securing living supplies, being the first concern of the citizen under exceptional circumstances, the country undergoes.

President al-Assad stressed the need to provide all necessary support for the families of the martyrs, the wounded, the missing and the displaced and finding appropriate solutions to their problems instantly.

He stressed that the tasks of the Governor are not confined to the executive and service aspects, but should include the political activity by contributing to the promotion of reconciliation, so as to save the blood of the Syrians, through opening up to and communicating with national political forces to ensure everyone’s participation in the construction of Syria’s future.

President al-Assad also stressed the need to give the issue of reconstruction most attention by the governors and the need for coordination with authorities concerned, in this regard.

The governors debated main problems that impede work progress and the ongoing efforts to overcome them in coordination with ministries and departments concerned, in order to contribute to the improvement of the living, service and development conditions of the Syrian cities and rural areas, within available resources.
