TARTOUS, (ST) _ Delegated by President Bashar Al-Assad, Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed has honored over the past few days hundreds of martyrs’ families in Tartous Governorate.
The minister said: “President Al-Assad sends through this honoring a message of love and appreciation to the families who offered their sons for martyrdom in defense of the homeland in the face of the conspiracy hatched against it.”
He hailed The Martyrs’ sacrifices to defend the homeland and restore security and stability to it.
SANA quoted al-Sayyed as saying: “Today, the Syrians are celebrating the day of sacrifice which has become an emblem of all noble human meanings.”
He added that no dialogue is to take place with terrorists and mercenaries who are carrying weapons, stressing that those who have perpetrated sabotage acts under false pretexts and in the name of Islam will not be able to topple Syria.
“I assure everybody that victory is close, and we’ll live in security and stability thanks to our sons’ sacrifices,” al-Sayyed said.
For their part, the families of martyrs expressed pride in the martyrdom of their sons who carried out their national tasks in serving the homeland and warding off the sedition, underlining their determination to offer more sacrifices.
The honor included martyrs’ families in Tartous towns: Sheikh Badr, Banias, Safita, and Dreikish.
