DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad pointed out that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey support terrorism in Syria.
Interviewed by Al-Mayadeen Satellite TV, President Al-Assad added that Saudi Arabia publically supports the armed groups and implements sincerely the policies of the United States. Syria is to negotiate with the boss and not with the executioners.
In reply to a question, H.E. President Al-Assad added that it is still early to talk about his candidacy for Presidency in the coming elections before setting the date for the elections, pointing out that there is no reason, however, as not to be a candidate.
H.E. President Al-Assad called on the UN envoy to Syria, Elakhdar Al-Ibrahimi, to commit himself to his task and not to deviate from it.
President Al-Assad asserted that the struggle is now with Al-Qaeda and its affiliates like al-Nusra front and the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Bilad al-Sham, asserting that the ongoing in Syria is different from what happened in Tunisia and Egypt, particularly as far as foreign intervention, and flow of money and terrorists, not to mention the peculiarity of Syria, political situation and the structure of the State.
”carrying weapons transforms any opposition into terrorism,” said President Al-Assad.
H.E. President Al-Assad added that the West wasn’t interested in fighting terrorism in the 70s and 80s, asserting that Syria allied itself with all countries to combat terrorism, including the USA.
“Terrorism can’t be used as a card and Syria has ever been against terrorism,” declared H.E. President Al-Assad.
“The United States has done none for making success of the peace process.” Added H.E. President Al-Assad in reply to a question, asserting that Syria has been flexible with the Americans as far as combating terrorism and Mideast peace process.
H.E. President Al-Assad underscored that Syria pursues a policy of institutions which reflect the interests of the Syrian people.
H.E. President Al-Assad asserted that the use of arms against the State started since the early days of the crisis, where the Syrian police personnel were martyred, citing what Moslem Brotherhood said regarding its smuggling of weapons into Syria before the crisis.
“Moslem brotherhood is an opportunist terrorist group, based on hypocrisy, and exploits religion for political gains,” said President Al-Assad.
H.E. President Al-Assad declared Syria’s openness to dialogue with every Syrian, but not with those who carry weapons, terrorists nor with those who call for foreign intervention.
President Al-Assad, in reply to another question, underscored that Syria and since 1997 stopped the production of chemical weapons, asserting that the Syrian decision regarding chemical weapons was before hand taken before its announcement and that the saying that the chemical issue stopped the war isn’t precise.
H.E. President Al-Assad added that the factors leading to the success of the proposed Geneva 2 aren’t available, reiterating the Syrian readiness to attend the said conference with no preconditions.
President Al-Assad pointed out that the crisis in Syria is to be solved once the flow of weapons, money and terrorists would stop.
In reply to another question, H.E. President Al-Assad pointed out that the League of Arab States since Camp David markets but the Western policies and lately has aimed but to market wars against Arabs, asserting that “the League is responsible for the killing of Arab citizens”.
H.E. President Al-Assad Pointed out that Arab-Arab relations are subjugated to the US desires.
In reply to a question, H.E. President Al-Assad hoped that Saudi Arabia would be pivotal as far as building, and stability not as far as destruction and supporting terrorism against the Syrians, asserting that Saudi Arabia is the most backward as far as political reform.
H.E. President Al-Assad pointed out that Lebanon hasn’t distanced itself from the crisis in Syria, as claimed, where many terrorists and weapons came from Lebanon.
H.E. President Al-Assad reiterated Syria’s ever readiness to support and back up the Resistance.
H.E. President Al-Assad asserted that the Resistance in the Golan is a popular decision and emerges once the State is to renounce the policy of liberating the land.
In reply to a question regarding Hamas, H.E. President Al-Assad said that if Hamas were to be resistance, we are with it; if it decided to be Moslem Brotherhood, there is no need for relation with it.
In reply to a question regarding Qatar, H.E. President Al-Assad pointed out that Qatar has struck arms deals with eastern Europe states and transferred them to Syria, asserting the need that Qatar should stop supporting terrorists and stop interference in the domestic affairs of Syria.
In reply to a question regarding Turkey, H.E. President Al-Assad pointed out that Turkey’s premier, Erdogan, like the Moslem Brotherhood, exploits religion in an opportunistic way and the aim of both is to ascend power.
H.E. President Al-Assad pointed out that many countries have changed their policies regarding Syria.
In reply to a question regarding Iraq, H.E. President Al-Assad asserted that the stance of Iraq is objective and truthful, hence the danger looming over Syria looms over Iraq too.
H.E. President Al-Assad added that Syria positively views the rapprochement between Iran and the USA because Iran does care about stability in the region, and because any rapprochement between Iran and any other country in the world would serve the causes of the region.
