President Al-Assad, Russian Defense Minister Discuss Cooperation in Fight against Terrorism

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad and the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during a meeting on Saturday discussed military cooperation between Syria and Russia in the fight against terrorism in Syria.

Sputnik news agency reported that Shoigu, on behalf of President Vladimir Putin of Russia, held talks with President Al-Assad on anti-terror cooperation.

 “The meeting touched upon issues of military and military-technical cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries, as well as certain aspects of cooperation in the fight against terrorist groups operating in Syria,” the Russian Defense ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
