President Al-Assad: “Reviewing the state’s general policies helps us identify the best policy for the current and coming stage”
Damascus – President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that dialogue between ministries and institutions creates new ideas for building more viable policies that serve the society, pointing out that “this dialogue must take into consideration identifying the problems, the points of weakness and the needs, otherwise we won’t be able to build correct sectoral policies.”
The president made the remarks during a meeting on Saturday with the assistant ministers who completed a training program on specialized policy making, on the response to sectoral challenges and on solving the problems that face the government.
“Discussing the sectoral policies won’t be a success unless we start from the general policies and from the state’s identity at the economic, service, educational, health and other levels, because the state’s identity is the element that identifies the general policy which in turn specifies the policies of each sector,” President Al-Assad said.
President Al-Assad affirmed the need to review the general policies of the state to point to the failures and successes of these policies, particularly because “this review helps us identify the best policies for the current and coming stage”.
The president noted the important role played by assistant ministers in the performance of the ministries as they are a major link between planning and implementation and they contribute to policy making and implementing, “therefore, the ability of the assistant ministers to do their tasks efficiently upgrades the performance of the ministries, institutions and administrations and strengthens the parties’ economic, social and health tasks in all sectors.”
For their part, the assistant ministers put forward ideas to identify the sectoral policies pursuant their fields of work and to tackle the challenges facing the implementation of these ideas. They also stressed the need to enhance coordination and partnership between the ministries within the framework of the state’s general policy.
