President Al-Assad: Revamping Arab parties’ role imperative

 

DAMASCUS, (ST) –”the Arab parties’ inactive role, over the past years, has paved the way for exotic movements and thoughts to invade Arab societies.Hence,there is a dire need to revamp the role of parties and NGOs in the near future .And they should adopt thoughts of the peoples who recently proved that they are clinging to local and national principled stances ,”underscored President Bashar Al-Assad .

President  Al-Assad’s remarks came during a meeting His Excellency held on Tuesday with members of the General Secretariat of the Arab Parties’ General Conference which is holding its extraordinary session in Damascus.

The developments in the Arab arena in general and in Syria in particular were also discussed during the meeting.

President Al-Assad stressed the necessity to boost inter-ties between Arab parties in the service of the common interests of region’s peoples.

“there is also a need to cement popular relations ,coordinating efforts intellectually in order to knock out the extremist takfiri thought that targets Arabs’ identity, “added President Al-Assad  , affirming  the importance of adhering to the concepts of comprehensive pan-Arabism based on citizenship and non-discriminatory equality.

For their part, the guest delegation  voiced support for Syria and confidence that the Syrian people and army will hammer  terrorism and foil plots of division targeting Syria and other countries in the region.

They  made it clear that  Syria isn’t alone as the  Arab people  stand by it despite the ongoing circumstances in some Arab countries today.

The delegation hailed  Syria’s  steadfastness and sacrifices for its clinging to national and in defending the just Arab causes.
