President Al-Assad receives condolences from Iraqi and Palestinian Presidents over earthquake victims
President Bashar Al-Assad Wednesday evening recieved phone calls from President Abdul Latif Rashid of Iraq and from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in which the two leaders expressed their deepest condolences over the earthquake victims.
The Iraqi president voiced his country’s solidarity with Syria over the ordeal caused by the earthquake disaster. He stressed that Iraq will spare no effort to assist the Syrian people and contribute to alleviating the impacts of this catastrophe.
The Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, in another phone call, also stressed Iraq’s readiness to continue providing assistance to support the Syrian government’s efforts in rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.
President Al-Assad thanked the Iraqi leadership and people for their humanitarian response and for sending different kinds of aids to help the Syrians overcome the current difficut circumstances.
In his phone conversation with President Al-Assad, the Palestinian President affirmed that the Palestinian leadership and people stand by their Syrian brothers and are ready to provide assistance.
