President al-Assad receives Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces

DAMASCUS, (ST)_President Bashar al-Assad received on Thursday the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and the accompanying delegation.

The president expressed his satisfaction over the outcome of the meetings held between the Syrian and Iranian sides and the signing of the military and technical cooperation, which reflects the level of strategic relations between Syria and Iran.

The signed  agreement is the result of a joint action and cooperation that dates back to many years in order to confront the terror war on Syria and the aggressive policies that target Damascus and Tehran.

On his part, Maj Gen Bagheri stressed that Iran is keen on going ahead with cementing relations with Syria in all fields for the common interests of the Syrian and Iranian peoples and for protecting them from the attempts of foreign interventions in their internal affairs.
