President al-Assad receives cable on Ramadan

Damascus, (ST)-President Bashar al-Assad on Monday received a cable from the first religious judge in Damascus Mahmoud al-Ma’arawi .

The cable says: “it is of great honor for me to inform Your Excellency  that the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in Syria starts on Wednesday, July 10th, 2013 and Tuesday is the 30th of Shaaban.”

“I seize this opportunity  to pray to God to bless  you and Syria and the entire Islamic nation will witness  prosperity in the next Ramadan,”al-Ma’arawi added.

Minister of Endowments Mohammad Abdul-Satar al-Sayyed, Minister of Justice Najm al-Ahmad and Syria’s grand Mufti Ahmad Badr Eddin Hassoun also cabled His Excellency on this occasion .
