President Al-Assad receives a delegation of a number of leaders and representatives of the Palestinian forces and factions

Damascus, (ST) – President Al-Assad received on Wednesday comprised of a number of leaders and representatives of Palestinian forces and factions, where they discussed the results of the reconciliation dialogues that took place between the Palestinian factions in Algeria during the past days. They also discussed the means of enhancing these reconciliations to keep pace with the escalating popular situation in the face of the Israeli occupation and its continuous crimes in the Palestinian territories.

President Al-Assad said that the result of the Algerian dialogues is the unity of the Palestinians, and this unity is the beginning in serving the Palestinian cause.

President Al-Assad stressed that the unity of the Palestinian ranks is the basis of its strength in facing the occupation and restoring rights. He said that what is happening now with all the Palestinian territories proves that the new generations are still clinging to the resistance and to Palestinian cause.

His Excellency stressed that despite the war that Syria is facing, it has not changed its positions in supporting the resistance. The President added that this matter is based on the principles and deep conviction of the Syrian people in the issue of resistance on the one hand, and out of interest on the other, because our interest requires us to be with the resistance.

In turn, the delegation members emphasized that Syria is a fundamental pillar of the resistance. They stressed that all the Palestinian people and the Palestinian factions appreciate the importance of Syria,its role and its sacrifices. They stressed that Syria has been the incubator of the resistance historically and it is the fortress that was resorted to in times of hardship.

The delegation members added that Syria is the strategic depth of Palestine, so all the Palestinian factions and forces must stand with Syria in its steadfastness in the face of international aggression against it and in the face of the American-Zionist project. They said that this meeting with President Al-Assad will give up the morale of the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank because Syria’s strength is the strength of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian delegation included the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziad Nakhaleh, the Secretary-General of the Popular Front-General Command, Dr. Talal Naji, the Secretary-General of the Sa’iqa Organization, Dr. Muhammad Qais, the Secretary-General of the Fatah Al-Intifada Movement, Ziad Al-Saghir, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Jamil Mezher, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine Fahd Suleiman, Secretary-General of the Popular Struggle Front Khaled Abdel Majid, Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Front Youssef Muqdah, member of the Hamas Political Bureau Dr. Khalil al-Hayya, and Palestinian Ambassador to Syria Dr. Samir Al-Rifai.
