President Al-Assad performs the Eid Al-Fitr prayer in Al-Hassan Mosque in the Al-Midan neighborhood of Damascus

Damascus, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad performed the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at Al-Hassan Mosque in Al-Midan neighborhood in Damascus.

The Minister of Endowments, a number of state and party officials, a number of members of the People’s Assembly, a group of Islamic scholars and an audience of citizens performed the prayer with President Al-Assad.

Sheikh Muhammad Bashar Turkmani who led the prayer emphasized the meanings of the Eid which are ones of solidarity, cohesion and tolerance. He pointed out that with the coming of Eid Al-Fitr the attacks of the Zionist occupation entity on the occupied Palestinian lands and Islamic and Christian holy sites continue, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Turkmani pointed out that the Holy Prophet came to perfect morals, foremost of which is tolerance and forgiveness. He stressed that President Bashar Al-Assad, by issuing a decree of pardon, embodied these morals.

Sheikh Turkmani stressed that the attempts made by the West claiming democracy and the preservation of human and women’s rights to harm Islam push us to be more committed to our land. He stressed that, thanks to the cohesion of people of Syria and the sacrifices of its army, Syria was able to overcome the ordeal it has been exposed during the past years.

Turkmani concluded by praying to God to protect Syria from the plots of the enemies, restore security to the country and to support its army and have mercy on its martyrs.
