President Al-Assad pays working visit to Iran

President Bashar Al-Assad paid on Sunday a working visit to Tehran during which he met Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi.

The talks during the meetings dealt with the historic relations between Syria and Iran that are based on bilateral cooperation and common understanding over the region’s problems and issues as well as the challenges that face it.

Other issues of common interest and the recent developments in  international and regional arenas were also on the table.

President Al-Assad asserted during his meeting with Seyyed Khamenei that the events proved once again the correctness of the visions and approach that Syria and Iran have followed for years, especially in the face of terrorism, which confirms the importance of continuing cooperation in order not to allow America to rebuild the international terrorist system that it has used to harm the countries of the world, especially the countries of the region over the past decades, noting that the United States today is weaker than ever.

He also affirmed that the Palestinian cause today is re-imposing its presence and importance more and more in the conscience of the Arab and Islamic world thanks to the sacrifices of the heroes of the resistance.

For his part, Seyyed Khamenei  reiterated Iran’s continuous support for Syria to complete its victory over terrorism and liberate all Syrian areas, considering that Syria is achieving historic victories thanks to the steadfastness and courage of its president and the strength and steadfastness of its people and army.

Addressing President Al-Assad, Sayyed Khamenei added: “We have no doubt that you will be able to liberate the rest of the Syrian lands, and under your leadership, Syria will remain united. We must keep the strong relationship that unites our two countries and peoples, and this is not only for the benefit of our two countries, but also for the region.”

The Iranian president stressed that his country has a serious will to expand relations with Syria especially in the private and public economic and trade relations.

“ Iran will continue to provide all forms of support to Syria and its people, especially in the light of the difficult economic conditions that the world is witnessing, to help it overcome difficulties,” he said considering that any suffering for Syria is suffering for Iran.
President al-Assad described the Iranian leadership and people as a brotherly, friend and loyal partner, considering that the approach taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran in dealing with regional and international issues does not serve the interests of Iran and Syria only, but all the interests of the countries and peoples of the region.
