President Al-Assad participates in commemorating Prophet Mohammad’s Birthday at Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque in Lattakia

President Bashar Al-Assad on Thursday participated in the religious celebration held by the Ministry of Endowments today to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad at Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque in the city of Lattakia, where his excellency performed the noon prayer led by Sheikh Mahmoud Hakim.
The celebration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Sheikh Tariq Dhawa.
Minister of Endowments Muhammad Abdul Sattar Al-Sayyed made a speech in which he pointed to the great meaning of this honorable anniversary and to the morals and values contained in the biography of the Prophet, which are an example  for humanity in respecting human rights, as the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said, “I was sent only to complete good morals”. This message was sent to all humanity, it is a heavenly, immortal and everlasting message that does not change with time or place, and is set on top of morals.

Prophet Mohammad’s message is that of mercy, not that of cruelty, killing, terrorism, destruction, bombing, sabotage, or what political Islam claims. It is a message of loyalty to faith, values, homeland and people, Al-Sayyed clarified, pointing to the values that prophet Mohammad spread, most important of which were Justice, equality, call for dialogue, wisdom and good advice.

The Minister called on God Almighty to protect Syria, its people, its army, and its leader, President Bashar al-Assad.
The celebration included religious supplications inspired by the occasion.
A number of Islamic religious scholars, economic and social figures as well as a crowd of citizens participated in the celebration.
