President al-Assad offers condolences to the leaders and people of the United Arab Emirates on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan

Damascus (ST): President Bashar Al-Assad sent cables of condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President United Arab Emirates. 

 

On his behalf and on behalf of the Syrian Arab people, His Excellency offered the leaders of the United Arab Emirates and the brotherly Emirati people his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy for this great loss, praying to God for mercy and the vastness of Heaven for the deceased , and to spare the Emirates and its people from all harm and damage.

President al-Assad said that the deceased had a great impact on the renaissance of the United Arab Emirates and the great prestige it has achieved, and the Emirati and Arab people will always remember his exploits and his white hands.

Earlier, the UAE Ministry of Presidential Affairs announced the death of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The ministry said in a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency “WAM” today: “We announce an official period of mourning and flags flown at half-mast over the late His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for a period of 40 days, and work in ministries, departments, federal and local institutions and the private sector will be suspended for 3 days, starting today.”
