President Al-Assad meets with retired officers, stresses the need to benefit from their skills to serve the state and society
President Bashar Al-Assad on Thursday met with the retired officers, who had completed a training program that aimed at helping them practice their future role in public and local work more efficiently and effectively.
The program was held by the Veterans’ Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Administrative Development.
President Al-Assad affirmed the need to benefit from the accumulative knowledge and skills of the retired officers in different fields to serve the state and society. He pointed out that the training program has added social and administrative skills to the officers’ military expertise which will reflect in the role they will play in society which actually needs the skills of all its individuals.
“Retirement stage signals the beginning of a new life, not the end of a life…this stage may bring bigger achievements than those made in the official work stage,” President Al-Assad said.
“The biggest challenge in the process of building the state institutions lies basically in the ability to change the old work systems by developing new work systems that cope with the circumstances of the current stage and to reactivate the institutions in a way that turns them into more effective and stronger ones.
