President Al-Assad meets with members of the diplomatic corps

Damascus – President Bashar Al-Assad on Thursday held a meeting with members of the diplomatic corps in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
During his dialogue with the diplomats, President Al-Assad said that the essence of the American policy over the past decades until now has been the military escalation and the creation of chaos, pointing out that Europe, which is experiencing a state of deterioration not only at the moral level but even at the intellectual level, comes next in this policy.
“This was confirmed by the statements made daily by European politicians and the image that the European countries promote through their media outlets as well as by the media coverage of what is happening in Gaza, which is full of superficiality and racism on the one hand, and allegations and lies on the other,” he said, stressing that what is happening in Gaza today has brought back the Palestinian issue to its true place in the Arab conscience.
President Al-Assad added “accusing the West and America of dealing on the basis of double standards is an inaccurate accusation. What is true is that the West and America follow one standard in their policy, which is the permanent bias toward their own interests at the expense of the interests of other peoples and countries.”
“Perhaps this is one of the most prominent reasons that ignite conflicts in many regions of the world, including our region, which is currently witnessing a war on Gaza, a war that gives a blatant example of this bias,” the President clarified.
President Al-Assad placed the current political and military events, the current alliances and the ongoing conflicts in their historical context before reading them from their purely political perspective.

President Al-Assad also said that the West rushed to provide financial, military and logistical support to “Israel”, which represents the cornerstone in the colonialist project in the region.

For their part, the diplomats raised a wide range of questions and gave their opinions on politics and political thought, and talked about the role of the diplomatic institution and foreign missions in the light of the current developments.
