President Al-Assad Meets President Putin at Hmeimim Airbase

Hmeimim, Lattakia (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad on Monday met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at the Hmeimim Military Airbase in Lattakia.

The two leaders reviewed the military forces at the airbase in the presence of the Russian Defense Minister and Chief of Staff of the Syrian Arab Army and visited the Russian forces working in the airbase.

President Putin ordered the start of the pullout of the Russian forces from Syria.

“I order the Defense Minister and the Chief of the General Staff to start the withdrawal of the Russian forces to their permanent locations,”  President Putin said stressing that “if the terrorists raise their heads in Syria again we will deliver such strikes on them that they haven’t seen so far.”

 President Al-Assad thanked Putin for Russia’s effective participation in fighting terrorism in Syria, stressing that  the Syrian people won’t forget the Russian military efforts  after the blood of the Russian martyrs has mixed with that of the martyrs of the Syrian Arab army on the Syrian soil in their confrontation terrorists .
