President Al-Assad meets Iranian Foreign Minister

DAMASCUS, Oct.5, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad meets Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his accompanying delegation and discusses with him ways to stop the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and provide support and assistance to the Lebanese brothers at the popular and official levels, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

During the meeting, President Al-Assad stressed the strategic relationship between Syria and Iran and the importance of that relationship in confronting the challenges and dangers that pose a threat to the region and its people, most notably the continued Israeli occupation of Arab lands and its daily  crimes against civilians in Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

He asserted that the Iranian response to the repeated violations and attacks carried out by the Israeli entity against the peoples of the region and the sovereignty of its countries was a strong response, and it gave a lesson to this Zionist entity that the axis of resistance is capable of deterring the enemy and thwarting its plans, and that it will remain strong and steadfast thanks to the determination and solidarity of its peoples.

“The only solution for the Israeli entity is to stop the killings and shedding of innocent blood and restore legitimate rights to their owners,” President Al-Assad said.

In this context, President Al-Assad discussed with  Araqchi ways to stop the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, and the importance of providing support and assistance to the Lebanese brothers in light of the large displacement caused by the Israeli aggression.

For his part, Araqchi stressed confidence in the strength of the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine to stand up to the Israeli machine of destruction and killing, stressing the necessity of coordination with all supporting countries to stop this aggression.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Bassam Sabbagh, met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, and his accompanying delegation, where they discussed ways to mobilize urgent international support and assistance for displaced Lebanese in light of the Israeli aggression against brotherly Lebanon, and they agreed to intensify consultation between them in this regard. .

During the meeting, the ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries at various levels were also discussed.
