DAMASCUS, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad on Thursday received an Armenian parliamentary delegation led by MP Samuel Farmanyan.
The guest delegation conveyed a message to President Al-Assad from President Serzh Sargsyan of Armenia expressing the Armenian people’s condemnation of the Turkish-backed terrorist attacks by armed groups on the town of Kasab in northern Lattakia.
President Sergsyan, in his letter, thanked the Syrian state for its efforts to protect all citizens.
President Al-Assad highly appreciated Sergsyan’s objective stances and support for stability in Syria. He warned against the danger of western and regional-backed terrorism and extremist thinking aiming to fragment the region which is known throughout history of its cultural and social diversity.
The President reiterated the role Parliamentarians can play to explain this dangers at international forums.
For their part, members of the delegation affirmed their full support for the Syrian State’s efforts to restore security and stability to Syria and to ensure a safe return for the people displaced from Kasab and other areas to their houses and villages. They expressed their confidence that Syria will continue to be an example of coexistence and national unity.
