President Al-Assad: Major Corporations are the parties that lead politics and decision making in America and Europe

Damascus, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad affirmed during a meeting with Pambis Kyritsis, Secretary General of the World Federation of Trade Unions, that the role of international trade unions is directly linked to the concept of justice and the work to achieve it, pointing out that the relationship between Syria and the World Federation of Trade Unions is old and it starts from the conflict between capitalism and the work force.

President Al-Assad said that major corporations are the parties that lead politics and decision making in America and Europe and that create conflicts and wars to achieve their economic and financial interests.

President Al-Assad added that what is happening today in the occupied Palestinian territories is in part a reflection of this brutal reality that accepts committing massacres and killing innocent people simply because they cling to and defend their rights. He also said “there are  many battles that we should fight in which the political side is inseparable from the economic, ideological and social sides”.

For his part, Kyritsis indicated that his visit aims at expressing solidarity with Syria and its sought to restore stability and continue the reconstruction process. He stressed the support of the World Federation of Trade Unions for Syria’s efforts in the field of development away from external interference.

He pointed out that the world trade unions stand with the Palestinian issue today more than ever before. “It works to mobilize global public opinion in favor of the justiceness of this issue”, he added.
