President al-Assad Issues Decree Preventing Dealing with Currencies Other Than Syrian Pound

 DAMASCUS, (ST) – President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday issued Legislative Decree No. 54 for 2013 preventing dealing with currencies other than the Syrian Pound in payments or any other kind of commercial dealing or cash payments whether in foreign currency or precious metals.

According to the decree, the goods, services and other commercial dealings are not allowed to be marketed in currencies other than the Syrian Pound without the permission of the Prime Minister.
