President Al-Assad discusses with Saudi Foreign Minister relations between the two countries and Arab and international files
DAMASCUS, Apr.18, (ST)-President Bashar Al-Assad received on Tuesday Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan at Al-Shaeb Palace and discussed with him bilateral relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia and other political international and regional files as well as bilateral cooperation which serves the interest of the two countries and their peoples.
The Saudi minister conveyed to President Al-Assad the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prime Minister the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and their wishes for further security, stability and progress.
For his part, President Al-Assad sent his greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques the Crown Prince and the brotherly Saudi people, stressing that the brotherhood that unites the Arabs remains the deepest bonds between the Arab countries, and that the relations between Syria and the Kingdom are the natural state of affaires that should be, and these relations do not only constitute an interest for the two countries, but also for the an Arab and regional countries.
President Al-Assad stressed that the brotherly Arab role is necessary for supporting the Syrian people in overcoming all the repercussions of the war on Syria, stabilizing the situation and liberating all Syrian lands.
The President considered the changes that are taking place in the world make Arab cooperation more necessary at this stage in order to invest these changes for the interest of the Arab people in their countries.
The Saudi minister voiced his country’s confidence in the ability of Syria and its people to overcome all the impacts of the war to achieve the sustainable development, stressing that the Kingdom stands by Syria and supports it to preserve its territorial integrity and restore stability and security, along with creating the suitable environment for the return of refugees and displaced people.
He indicated that the upcoming stage necessitates the return of the right relations between Syria and the Arab States, in addition to the Arab and regional role of Syria to be better than before.
