President Bashar al-Assad has received the Russian president’s special envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev and Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin and the accompanying delegation.
The talks dealt with the trilateral meeting to be held tomorrow between leaders of the three guarantor states of the Astana process on the settlement in Syria besides Russia’s efforts to remove obstacles being put by some states in the region and outside it in order to delay reaching an agreement to end the war in Syria, according to the Syrian Presidency website.
The Russian delegation asserted that Moscow, which has strategic relations with Damascus, is determined to work with Damascus to ease the impacts of the ongoing terror war on Syria.
Russia will also go ahead with working with Syria in fighting terrorism and cleansing all Syrian territories from terrorists.
The situation in Syria and the region was also on the table.
