President Al-Assad discusses with Griffiths procedures that help recovery from repercussions of February earthquake

DAMASCUS, Mar.21, (ST)- Today, President Bashar Al-Assad held talks with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, on the practical steps and procedures that would have an effect and direct outcome on recovery from the repercussions of the earthquake disaster in all sectors and would contribute to providing appropriate conditions for the return of more displaced Syrian people to their cities and villages.

The President and Griffiths also discussed the international efforts that support those procedures and steps in a way that helps the Syrians overcome the effects of the war and earthquake and boost stability in Syria and the return of the Syrians to their normal life.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatiates, Faisal Al-Miqdad, met Griffiths and the accompanying delegation.

The talks during the meeting dealt with different aspects of cooperation between the Syrian national sides and the UN and its agencies to ease the suffering of Syrians from the repercussions of the earthquake that hit the country on the 6th of last month.
