President Al-Assad congratulates the Christian denominations that follow the eastern calendar on Easter

DAMASCUS, April.24, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad congratulated on Sunday the Christian denominations that follow the eastern calendar on the occasion of glorious Easter, wishing them and all Syrians health, welfare, and peace.

 

The Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam conveyed the congratulations of President Al-Assad to Patriarch John X, Patriarch of Antioch and all the East for Greek Orthodox, and to Patriarch Mar Ignatius Ephrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, the supreme head of the Syriac Orthodox Church in the world and to all citizens of their honorable denominations.

 

For their part, the heads of the Christian denominations thanked President Al-Assad for this gesture, wishing him, his family and all Syrians health and welfare.

 

They asserted full confidence in the ability of the Syrian people to rebuild what has been destroyed in the terrorist war on the country and to overcome the economic impacts of this war and unjust sanctions imposed on them. 

 

They prayed to God to protect Syria, its people and the leadership and to have mercy upon martyrs’ souls.

 

They also voiced their satisfaction over the return of security and stability to most Syrian areas thanks to the heroism of the Syrian army.
