President al-Assad congratulates President Putin on victory over the Nazis

 On May 9th, President Bashar Al-Assad sent a congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the seventy-sixth anniversary of the victory over Nazism, wishing the Russian Federation continued progress and prosperity.

In his message to President Putin, President Al-Assad said: “I extend to you, the Russian people and the veterans’ warmest congratulations on this occasion, which chronicles one of the most important and prominent victories. These victories achieved by the peoples for their freedom and independence, and commemorates the memory and exploits of the heroics and sacrifices made by the Russian people in a cruel war.”

President Al-Assad wished the Russian Federation continued progress, prosperity and success in its relentless endeavor to consecrate security and stability in the world, and its defense of human values and the principles of international legitimacy and international law.
