Damascus – President Bashar Al-Assad has congratulated President Vladimir Putin on his inauguration as President of the Russian Federation for a new term.

“I congratulate you on your inauguration as President of the Russian Federation, wishing you continued success and lasting success in your duties and responsibilities. We are all confident that the coming years will bring the Russian Federation, under your leadership and with the will and efforts of the friendly Russian people, more progress, prosperity ads progress, and together you will be able to confront all challenges, defend your country’s national interests and preserve its ancient civilization,” Presidetn Al-Assad said in a congratulatory telegram.

Yesterday, Putin was sworn in as President of the Russian Federation for a new 6-year term.
