President Al-Assad congratulates President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on victory in Algeria’s presidential elections

President Bashar Al-Assad on Sunday sent a cable of congratulation to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on his victory in the Algerian presidential elections.

“Your deserved victory is the best evidence of the confidence of the Algerian people in you and in your wise policy on dealing with the dangerous events that affect the world today, and in your ability to protect your country without abandoning the principles and independent positions for which Algeria is truly distinguished,” President Al-Assad said.

“Syria and Algeria have always enjoyed distinguished bilateral relations. Fraternity is not the only factor that brings the two countries together, there are also common principles and deep rooted values ​​that were embodied in the historical stations of struggle of two countries. We are proud of all the factors that bring our two countries together, and we are keen on preserving and consolidating these factors”, President Al-Assad added, highly appreciating the Arab nationalist role of Algeria in support for just causes.

“The Syrian people will always remember Algeria’s honorable supportive stance towards Syria during the terrorist war on the country, and we will continue to work with you to develop cooperation in a way that achieves the interest of the two brotherly peoples and benefits the two countries,” the president pointed out.
