President Al-Assad, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister discuss efforts to make forthcoming Arab summit in Manama a success

President Bashar Al-Assad on Sunday received Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

Talks dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in different fields in the service of the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

The talks focused on the preparations and efforts being made by the Kingdom of Bahrain to make the Arab summit, scheduled for next month, a success.

The most important topics on the summit’s agenda were also reviewed during the meeting to serve the common Arab interests and unify Arab efforts in the face of the current challenges.

President Al-Assad stressed the need to strengthen Arab solidarity and joint Arab action with the aim of achieving stability in the region in the light of the current developments in the world.

Earlier on Sunday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad met with Al-Zayani and discussed with him the bilateral relations and the ongoing preparations for holding the 33rd Arab summit. Al-Mikdad stressed that the summit should support joint Arab action and enhance Arab capabilities in face of challenges.

It is to be noted that on March 26th, President Al-Assad received a letter from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrian that included an official invitation to participate in the meeting of the 33rd Arab summit which will be held on the 16th of Next May in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
